I’ve been obsessing over geode jewelry as of late! I fell in love with this Aviva Rose ring at Art Effect in Lincoln Park last week and have been dreaming of rock jewelry ever since. Seriously, I’ve had dreams about this ring. Normal? Probably not, but I can’t afford the $550 price tag so I’m left lusting. Thus, I’ve put together a collection of geode jewelry that ranges from $10 up to $180. Enjoy!

I had been searching unsuccessfully for a pair of neon cap-toe flats, and then I finally came across these in the strangest of places… Alloy.com. I remember getting the Alloy catalog back in Junior High, but I hadn’t thought about the store since. $25 for the exact pair of shoes I had been dreaming of?? I’ll take it!

Shorts & Sleeves

I’ve always had a thing for longer sleeves and shorts. The combination feels a tad bit unexpected and is perfect for days where the temperature fluctuates with the time.

Printed shorts are everywhere this summer and while adorable, it can be hard to figure out what to pair with them. When in doubt, pick a solid color within the pattern. For a more out-of-the-box look, try pairing printed shorts with a complimentary color that is not within the color palette or a subtle pattern that doesn’t clash. With these shorts, I chose a solid navy top even though there isn’t any navy in the shorts.

Turquoise and purple is one of my favorite color combinations so my mind was already made up when I saw these shorts on sale at Loft last summer. See how I’ve mixed turquoise and purple before… here and here!

Magenta & Melon

The last day of vacation is always bittersweet. I try not to dwell on the fact it’s the last day in paradise before being tossed back into reality the following day, but it can be challenging. We spent our last full day soaking up every last little bit of sun before heading to Truluck’s for dinner.

Peach & Pearls

The third day of our vacay was our spa/beach day! We spent Friday at the Ritz in Naples. We had a mini spa day in the morning…massages, dips in the mineral pool, reading on the terrace… it doesn’t get much more relaxing! We then lunched and spent the afternoon soaking up the sun by the pool. We finished our day with dinner at Gumbo Limbo with an excellent view of the water!

Gingham & Green

The second day of our vacay was spent by the pool, too! Thursday night we walked around downtown Naples, ate dinner at Vergina (with a nice cold glass of Prosecco), and finished the night with frozen yogurt at Spin.

Florida Floral

Hello there, Happy Monday! Sorry for being MIA last week… It was nice to be (almost) unplugged for a few days on vacation in Naples, Florida! I briefly checked email/tweeted/instagramed from my phone, but I didn’t get on my computer at all. A very nice break! 🙂

Three of my girlfriends and I went to Naples for Spring Break two years ago with a larger group and we’ve been itching to go back! We got in to Florida early on Wednesday morning and laid by the pool most of the afternoon, even though it was overcast. The forecast was calling for thunderstorms every day of our trip, but we only got hit with clouds on our first day. We had perfect weather the last three days! No complaints here. 🙂

Summer Break

With everyone under the age of 22 finishing finals and starting Summer break, I can’t help but long for the days when Summer meant three months off. To help ease the pain, three of my girlfriends and I are off to Florida today for a long weekend! I am BEYOND excited! I will be tweeting and instagram-ing pics so stay tuned! 🙂

The Summer months put me in vacay mode and I crave easy, relaxed clothing. I love light-weight button-front shirts (esp. in a crisp Summer white) in the warm months. They look polished, but are still loose and un-restricting. Boyfriend jeans and flowy dresses are also summer staples for me. Comfort is key!
